Water Dog 1922 and 1982 The Water Dogs have great foresight and are often well-educated on many different subjects. With this wisdom they are known to appreciate other points of view. They are usually very liberal, willing to consider flexible approaches to issues. They are easygoing, but can be spendthrifts with money and less loyal with friends than the other Dogs. Regardless of viewpoints Dogs always have friends and are usually popular people Metal signs will collect Water; Water Signs will nourish Wood signs and quench Fire Signs. Water signs will be absorbed by Earth signs. With just these few simple concepts the Water Dog can seek the partner of their greatest compatibility In matters of Love the Dogs fares best with the Tiger, Snake, Rabbit and the Pig. Expect conflict with the Rooster and Dragon, the Sheep will bore you. In short marry an Earth or Metal Tiger, Snake, Rabbit or Pig Avoid the Fire Rooster. Dogs can be overly shy when courting someone. If they are interested, they want to make certain their intended mate is interested as well before expressing any feelings. They are emotionally sensitive people, and don’t take wounds to the heart easily. As a lover, Dogs are compassionate, supportive partners, eager to hear about your day. They share the highs and lows of being in a relationship and are known for defending their partners. Happy Dogs are more likely to want families than Dogs in joyless relationships. Dogs are simple and lead easygoing lives. They can have a tendency to be verbally mean and must learn to control their angry tongues. / Dogs make good partners and usually easy to live with. Their serious personalities may be boring to some, but to others it demonstrates an innate stability. As would be expected the Dog is a giving and compassionate personality. He offers plenty of kind words, support and advice to friends and family. He is a listener, always available to lend an ear or a shoulder to a friend in need. Dogs pay attention to people close to them and as such can know more about their friends than their friends know about them or even themselves! Dogs are incredibly attentive. If they share one fault it is not paying more attention to their own needs. In private, many Dog people worry a lot. Dogs can be a bit overwhelming, due in part to their attentive natures. Sometimes they can march in and take control of a situation, even when it doesn’t involve them. Money and status don’t much matter to the Dog. He is more concerned with the welfare of his family and friends. Dogs usually finish what they start. They are honest and trustworthy people, ethically strong and make loyal friends and companions. October is the month of the Dog and as such the Western astrological counterpart is Libra The Chinese lunar calendar is considered to be the longest chronological record of time, dating back to 2637 BC when the zodiac was first introduced. Each Chinese lunar year is represented by an animal sign. Lord Buddha realizing he was about to reach the final level of enlightenment requested a meeting with all the animals of the world so he could bless them. Only twelve animals responded. In recognition of their devotion, Lord Buddha then named each year of the twelve-year cycle in their honor. Each year is named according to the order in which the animals appeared before him. For centuries this system of five basic elements and twelve personality types has been used to help compatible couples find happiness and marital bliss. In the past matching was usually done by a village matchmaker. It is my intention to combine this ancient system of finding love with the modern internet. Millions of people use internet matchmaking sites only to find matches half way around the world. For a fraction of the price, you can buy your personalizes Chinese astrology shirt and the shirts of those best suited for you and start to wear them. Who knows a Fire Rabbit may just walk up to you and say “I have been looking for you all my life” Or you may be wearing a Water Tiger shirt and someone absolutely perfect says, “Hey that’s my sign” So let my grand social experiment begin

I’ve spent the day scanning old negatives for an particular project I’m working on and I came across some images of this. Do I know what it is? Oh yes. Do you know what it is? Let’s see. Is this a fake? Oh no its the real deal. Shot in 1982 when the world was a different place. Was it a better time or not? I don’t know. Was it more dangerous. I can’t tell. Was this type of import more prevelant or more insidous? I don’t know. Was it mine. No. I just happened to be somewhere were I saw it and was allowed to photograph it. Have I seen one since? No not for ages and ages and thank goodness for that. Is it still going on? You bet baby. This is Osama’s gift to the west. We give them death and destruction and they give us the same thing back just wrapped up pretty and sprayed with gold paint.
An old drawing I did in 1982.
Mt Rainier 1982. Taken with Ektachrome film and converted to B&W using Silver Flex Pro. Compare to The Summit 2008. Can you see the difference in the amount of glacier / snow. Taken same time of year. August 1982 vs. 2008.
this ancient analouge image is the Sydney skyline in 1982 from the WatchTower building that overlooks Redfern station. Now days it’s all multi million dollar apartments but it was a very different city back then. The graffitti is actually the name of a punk band that was squatting in the building at the time. But the image could also be read as a comment and observation on some of the goings on around here in bubbleland. Or maybe I just posted it because Muscular Teeth tells me he likes my apocalyptic images….... the interpretation is open….....
another photo of the city of Sydney taken from the roof top of what was then a punk squat. now it’s very very expensive apartments overlooking Redfern station. the graffitti was the extremely succinct name of the punk band that was in possession of the building at the time….... and it’s still a comment about other things as well….. it’s just different version of Real Fucking Idiots
this funny old photograph of Redfern station was shot out of the very grimy windows of a then derelict building that overlooks the station…... that building has long since been converted to very valuable bit of real estate but back then it was occupied by punks and pigeons ….... and this was their view…...
have ever wondered how hard it must be for punks and goths during the hot australian summers? there is quite possibly nothing so uncool in whole world as a hot punk…... this ancient analouge image was shot sometime in the middle of the summer of 1982 in a derelict building that a punk band called ‘The Real Fucking Idiots’ was squatting in.
a portrait of a young punk shot many years ago in a derelict Refern squat….....he was one of the many ‘extras’ around the punk group ‘The Real Fucking Idiots’.....this chap here was what LostGod would describe as a’”fucktard’

This is a collection of slides, photos & negatives from pictures I took with my Fujica 35mm in and around 1982. There are also some audio cassette tapes from the same time period. In the corner Maggie the cat is in full yawn. A cow is in the scene and if you look closely you’ll see some horses. Best viewed large. March 2009.
Scanned Imaged from a 1983 Photograph taken with an Olympus OM1N. This is the freight ferry ‘European Gateway’ which Sank after a collision in the North Sea, just a couple of miles from the port of Felixstowe, Suffolk, en route to Zeebrugge, Belgium. / Not to be confused with the Herald of Free Enterprise disaster in March 1987, which was also a Townsend Thoresn ship. I took this during a sail along the coast in February 1983, and as you can see, the Ship has been uprighted, and I took this during the one circuit of the stricken ferry, clearly showing the plates welded onto the port side so to enable the ship to be pulled into an upright position. / I have added 4 more pictures in a Journal that I hope you have time to look at. For a more detailed account of the disaster and rescue, Click Here, where you will be taken to the Harwich (Essex) Lifeboat Station. More about the Ferry follows. / / ‘European Gateway was built 1975 by Schichau Unterweser AG, Bremerhaven, for the Townsend-Thoresen service between Felixstowe and Europort. During the summer of 1980, she operated between Cairnryan-Larne. European Gateway then returned to Felixstowe service until 1982 when she was involved in a collision with the Speedlink Vanguard off Felixstowe. She sank with the loss of six lives. After salvage, she was rebuilt and entered service as the Flavia between Ancona-Igoumenitsa-Patras in 1984. In 1988 she was sold to GT-Link, entering service as the Travemünde Link between Gedser-Travemünde. In 1992, registered ownership passed to Europa Linien, and she was renamed Rostock Link when the German port changed to Rostock. In 1996, ownership of Europa Linien passed to DSB (later Scandlines). In 1999 Rostock Link was chartered to Mols Linien for their Århus-Kalundborg route under the marketing name Kalundborg Link. In 2000 she was sold to Agoudimos Lines, and was renamed Penelope A for a route Igoumenitsa-Brindisi.’ (Simplonpc) ‘Text’ above taken from: / Simplonpc.(no date) Townsend-Thoreson Ferries Postcards. The Swan river is Western Australias famous river, which crossed at Northam. We were staggered by the numbers of swans on the river.
In Marker Pens 210×250 Peter Gabriel ( 1950- ) founder and original lead singer of prog rock group Genesis from 1967-1975. Went solo in 1975 and the rest is history.
we went to the west to see wild flowers, and in this area they were laid on. Magnificent specimens of all sorts. It would be botanists dream world, but I am not of it. I trid looking them up in Wild Flowers of Western Australia and managed in many but not all cases to get a name for something that looked like what we had seen. I have used the best name I found but cannot guarantee it
This is what my book of flowers said so I accept.
The old snake swallowing medicine man is back, in black and white. I felt the colour version was a bit distracting as the expressions on the faces in the crowd is what I like best in this street scene. Yangshou, China, 1982.
This was taken in Western Australia. The only note was grasspatch. It is a small town about 79K north of Esperance. Wikipedia says ‘The town was named after a nearby farm of the same name that had been settled around 1896 and was renowned for bountiful crops and good grass.’
Very early pen/ink. Don’t know what the hell I was thinking back then. 210×290
