The fine detail doesn’t show up in the scan. I like doing this sort of design stuff. I put on a CD and just sit there drawing as an excuse to keep listening to music :)) FEATURED BY BACK IN BLACK GROUP – 1st October 2009 / FEATURED BY JOURNAL JUNKIES – 5th October 2009 /
“Don’t You Want Me” by the Human League is a conflicting male/female duet with the subject of jealousy and sexual obsession as the main theme. Its pop style has often led to a misinterpretion that it is a love song. The male part of the song is a svengali figure who turns a female waitress into a ‘star’, who then subsequently leaves him once she has obtained fame. Released in the UK on 5 December 1981 it went almost immediately to number one and remained in the UK charts for 13 weeks, and was Christmas number of that year. The single went on to sell 1.4 million copies in the UK and is the 25th most successful UK single of all time.
This is an old film camera shot from one of photo taking excursions / way back in June of 1981. I re-worked it as partial black and white.
This is an old film camera shot from 1981 of a church and hillside / in Nova Scotia. Photo was scanned and a painting effect added.
This is a digital copy of a photo I took in May 1981 in Beijing. Typical clothing then was the Mao suit and there were not many cars on the road. It was a very different Beijing to the city today. A busy day on the wall and it was like today, many visitors from mainland China.
I TOOK THIS SHOT OF THE BLUE ANGLES IN 1981, AT TRAVIS AFB CALIFORNIA. TWO YEARS LATER, 1983, I TOOK THAT 8X10 PHOTO BACK AND HAD THE BLUE ANGLES PILOTS SIGN IT. THAT IS THE SAME PHOTO I SCANNED INTO MY COMPUTER. UNFORTUNATELY THERE WERE DIFFERENT PILOTS IN 1983, THAN THE ONES IN 1981 WERE, BUT HEY, WHO’S COUNTING. AT LEAST I GOT THE SIGNATURES. ALL THE PILOTS ASKED ME WHERE I GOT THE PICTURE, I TOLD THEM THE TRUTH, I TOOK IT. ALTHOUGH IT HAS #1 BY MY INITIALS, IT IS ACTUALLY THE ONLY ONE. THE BLUE ANGLES ARE BASED AT PENSICOLA FLORIDA AND DON’T GET TO NORTHERN CALIFORNIA MUCH ANYMORE ACCEPT FOR FLEET WEEK IN SAN FRANSISCO AND SAN DIEGO.
This is either fantasy or something I saw at the foot of our garden … can’t remember which … you be the judge ;) Here is a detail:
Matron has a huge stockpile of Spam. Aside from the pills, weak lemon drink, highly calorific confectionery and lead paint, this is all I allow past my lips. Clearly hasn’t done me any harm. www.idrinkleadpaint.com
Here’s a drawing I did of Fountains Abbey, Yorkshire, England. I drew it 27 years ago. I’m currently going through my collection of pictures to see if there are any that might be appreciated on Redbubble. FEATURED BY PENCIL DRAWING GROUP – 29th May 2009

It was the train we were heading to york on. The carriage we were ins topped at a place in the platform where I stepped out of the train took my picture, stepped back in and was gone. From time spent on the platform at other times I knew I would get what I needed
The colour was terrible so this is in B&W. There used to be running water in this channel to provide cleanliness
Maybe Robert E Howard’s Conan The Barbarian. Another early ink drawing.
The pipe organ in St John’s Anglican Church, Reid in the ACT is quite stunning to look at. Sitting in the organ loft at the rear of the church, it was installed in 1981, having been designed by Ronald Sharp, the creator of the organ in the Sydney Opera House. As one of the finest organs in Canberra, it is popular with the School of Music Staff for practice and concert performances and was recently used in the RSCM (the Royal Society of Church Music – ACT branch) composition competition final performances.
