This is an all graphite drawing I did by hand…........ Original….................Sold
I suppose you can say I have always been a sucker for old cars, especially Hotrods. There is something about the design and style of the years gone by, that todays designers in the automotive world have lost…the subtle curves of the body line, the way the trim fits along the body, and the overall composition and style….rolling sculpture. Elegance and style which is no longer created by the manufacturers but now recreated by those who spend many a late night out in the garage building a Kustom, wielding the torch, throwing the lead, and hammering the seams. Art it one of it’s most purest forms. Creativity personified. This is quite an older shot but remains one of my favorites, the color in this and the reflection caught my eye when I first captured it. I am not a huge fan of tri-year Chevy’s, but this ‘56 was just to good to pass up. Hope you all like it as much as I do / —-John / —-—-—-—-—-—-—— See more on my website jdebordphoto.com / All artwork is © John De Bord, All Rights Reserved. Under the Clocks was where everyone met at Flinders Street. This meant both people who were waiting for a specific person, or in some cases people who were just cruising around. This was taken on my way home from work, and I was attracted by the light and shade. / There was a full scale map of the metropolitan area which my main figure is examining, and then over the entrance are clocks indicating for each route the time of the next train, and a small pull down piece under this showing any particular differences or connections with that service
This car is actually a friend of mines.

They cruised the streets on weekend nights, went to drive-in movies, were driven by weary dads to jobs that paid for the tract home and the family Chevy, were drag-raced on lonely roads by teenage males who knew they were untouchable, were tinkered with, outfitted with Chevy big block engines . . . for many car enthusiasts, the tri-five Chevies ruled.
