Beautiful 1947 Chevy utility. I desaturated the background to bring out the funky orange a bit more. This was taken at the 2004 Las Vegas hotrod show.
Fire Pig 1947 and 2007 Fire Pigs are active, outgoing and extroverted; they breathe new life into everything they do. Fire Pigs are highly motivated individuals who will not be deterred from a goal once they have set it. These Pigs are emotional and especially passionate about their loved ones, occupations and their goals in life. Bold and vivacious, they are fearless and will take any risk despite the consequences. They usually make spirited employers because they do work so hard. Never betray a Fire Pig. You can count on them being very abrasive if they discover your plan. Pigs are great partners to have because they are so supportive and giving of themselves. They are happiest at home, so arguments about late nights out with friends are few and far between for the Pig and his mate. Pigs are sexual creatures who love to be affectionate. In general Pigs are wonderful companions; they are especially appreciative and caring. They are grateful for what they have, especially a loving and healthy family. Once a Pig chooses a partner, they are in it for the long haul. Pigs dislike discord and will do whatever it takes to maintain a peaceful home life. Pigs can make good partners and most people would consider themselves lucky to be involved with one. Wood signs will feed Fire, Water Signs will quench their heat. Earth signs will be created by Fire, Metal Signs will be melted by Fire. With just these few simple concepts the Fire Pig can seek the partner of their greatest compatibility In short marry a Wood Rabbit, Rat or Sheep. The Pig, a fun and enlightened personality usually blessed with patience and understanding. People born under the sign of the Pig enjoy life and all it has to offer, especially family and friends. Honest and thoughtful they expect the same of other people. Pigs can often be perceived as oblivious and gullible because they care so much about others. They are known for doing just about anything for a friend in need. Last in the Chinese astrological cycle, Pig Years follow the Dog Years and recur every twelfth year. Though the starting day of the year may vary the majority of people born in the years 1911, 1923.1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995 and 2007 are Pigs. The motto for the Pig probably would be better to give than Receive. Pigs are usually more comfortable giving of their own time or attention than they are to ask others for it. They would rather carry a burden themselves than seek help from others. Pigs do anything they can to maintain a sense of peace with family or friends. This tendency often results in the Pig being taken advantage of, but Pigs basically forgive and forget everything. Above all they are compassionate souls who simply want to keep the peace. The Chinese name for pig is ZHU, the sign of honesty. November is the month of the pig and the Western astrological counterpart is Scorpio. The Pig is hardworking, giving, helpful, materialistic, but often gullible, oblivious and occasionally obstinate The Chinese lunar calendar is considered to be the longest chronological record of time, dating back to 2637 BC when the zodiac was first introduced. Each Chinese lunar year is represented by an animal sign. Lord Buddha realizing he was about to reach the final level of enlightenment requested a meeting with all the animals of the world so he could bless them. Only twelve animals responded. In recognition of their devotion, Lord Buddha then named each year of the twelve-year cycle in their honor. Each year is named according to the order in which the animals appeared before him. For centuries this system of five basic elements and twelve personality types has been used to help compatible couples find happiness and marital bliss. In the past matching was usually done by a village matchmaker. It is my intention to combine this ancient system of finding love with the modern internet. Millions of people use internet matchmaking sites only to find matches half way around the world. For a fraction of the price, you can buy your personalizes Chinese astrology shirt and the shirts of those best suited for you and start to wear them. Who knows a Fire Rabbit may just walk up to you and say “I have been looking for you all my life” Or you may be wearing a Water Tiger shirt and someone absolutely perfect says, “Hey that’s my sign” So let my grand social experiment begin!!!!!

Wonderful technology unlike Ansel Adams who was renowned to never remember the dates he took his pictures we have the camera telling us when an what time, but I think mine is lying as it says this shot was taken at 5.50 am on the 31st July an I know full well the sun would be well an truly up then so no way could this be so. I have travelled far an wide to capture the moon over buildings etc near me but the best shots always seem to be from the front lawn handy that cup of tea mid exposure.

This mask was given to me by my husband 4 years ago as a present, this original designed plaster of paris mask is one of the many art pieces created by Marina Shaleesh in 1947 it was presented in a hobby show that is all the information I have on it I do have a photo of her holding it but not sure whether I should post it what do you think it is an old photo
a beautiful rare classic convertible from the forties, in midnight blue
1947 Chevrolet, slightly modified. Judging by the 20 inch wide rear tires, I don’t think this Chev still has the original straight six anymore. Oh, and the twin 3 inch tailpipes kind of give it away, not to mention the flames. Never saw underhood, so you will have to use your (big block) imagination!

True to many old tractors that have weathered the elements, this old John Deere has lost it’s color along the way. This tractor sits on my son-in-laws farm west of Barrhead, Alberta.Canon A520 The John Deere Model AR Tractor was first produced in 1935 and continued until 1948 when it became the last John Deere model to be “styled”, the final version of which was produced in 1953. The R meant Regular or Standard-tread and featured a non-adjustable front axle. All Model AR.’s were built at the John Deere, Waterloo, Iowa factory. The two cylinder petrol/kerosene horizontal engine had a bore of 5 1/2 inches / and a stroke of 6 3/4 inches, maximum engine speed was 975 r.p.m. Transmission was via a four forward and one reverse speed gearbox. A total of 34,075 Model AR,s were built.

Here I am! I was born in Orange Memorial Hospital, Orange, New Jersey on l March 24, 1947. ( I don’t care if you know how old I am!) I am to be the first and only child of my parents, Elizabeth S. Searles and Charles Clark Searles of South Orange, N.J. My Mother was delighted to have a baby and my father was hoping for a boy! Oh, well, you get what the good Lord giives you. He was still happy to have a baby, and I suppose got over the shock of a female child soon. I guess I was somewhat spoiled being an only child. I remember I did not miss having brothers and sisters until I became a adult and realized I had no siblings of my own to visit and enjoy life with. So, I have always enjoyed my husbands brother’s and sisters. Each one of my husbands. :))))) I think being an only child endows you with an ability to amuse yourself, be independant and set your own course, so to speak. I have always been imaginative, mischevious, fiercly independant and deeply resent being told what to do. You can ask me to do something, and I will gladly oblige if at all possible, I will follow rules and regualtions to the most extent…......but,please do not order me about! I think these attributes are common with many an only child.

This old tractor stands at a neighbor’s farm here in Manitoba. He told me it’s around 1947/48. He does know it’s pre 1951. He hopes to restore it and get it going again one day soon. Thank you Ron for the photo opportunity. / / Canon Rebel XT; Canon 18-55mm lens / Dynamic Photo HDR / 1/320 sec.; F/13; 55mm; ISO 400
