Here is another entry from my diary about the war in Viet-nam. I know that many soldiers want to forget, but there might be a few that want to exchange memories because they are embedded in our nightmares and dreams forever. Sorry, if I offend anybody, sorry if some of you are wives that have lost a soldier, sorry if you are a parent of a son that lost his life for our country, and I’m sorry if brings back memories that you want to forget. I live these nightmares all the time, and they are so real.

Great Uncle Alf [1886 -1981] came home to us and lived a long and productive life as a gardener – helping to look after the Wimmera region of the Victorian west. He married a lovely lady named Alfreida and fathered 5 children [seems to be the normal number of off spring in our family! :O)] / Sadly I never got to meet him – my father not very interested in extended family until he became a grandfather himself and realised why these people are important due to being bound by family love. Yet having read this account and his letter I cant help feeling very proud of him! This is why we remember them ! / LEST WE FORGET !! • The Circle of Life by Sarah Taylor (16 yrs)
    by Karin Taylor

I often find myself gazing out my window, oblivious to my surroundings, watching the crystal clear water roll up the sand, it’s what I do…

Sarah (my daughter) wrote this piece recently for school, I thought it was very moving and special. It is a fictional story but Sarah has drawn from her own feelings and life situation… she has had a tough year with getting through Glandular Fever only to find she has post-viral fatigue and gone from being very active to very exhausted, she has had to give up dancing and sport for the time being and it’s been very hard on her…. I hope you enjoy reading the story she’s written, I am very very proud of her

Another poem written when I was in highschool (age 16) It’s crazy to look back on it. / Back then it took me maybe a minute to write a poem I would write frantically just putting every word that came to mind down on paper no matter how little sense it made. Its kinda neat.

  • Why Did We Fall In Love?
    by Julie Everhart

We fell in love for the romance / We fell in love for the feel of the touch / We fell in love for the smiles and laughs / We fell in love kn…

I found this poem today. I wrote this when I was 16 and so in love with my boyfriend. We did get married and it lasted for 20 years but unfortunately it did not last for all eternity as I had once hoped. I was so hoping that I had found “THE ONE” and thought that I did and that it would last forever. Teenage girls certainly go through a ton of emotions on their first loves. Maybe Hallmark can buy this and make a card out of it…lol :)
