Just over 14,000 ft Mt Shasta is a powerful icon for Northern CA and Southern OR. Rightfully so this majestic mountain takes her place in the beautiful skies. Nothing is as prominent in the area. The Bald Eagle flying into the scene was a huge bonus in this shot.

Ex-N&W Class A #1218 steams up as it prepares to leave Salisbury, NC for a passenger excursion to Asheville, NC. Original: Kodachrome 64, 1/60, f16, 50mm Canon Lens, Canon F-1. The camera was actually sitting on the rail to capture the reflection. Scanned at 4800dpi on Epson flatbed scanner.
Photoshopped image of “Steaming Up” to look like an art print. Shot with a Canon AE-1 on Kodachrome 64, f16, 1/60sec. Ex-N&W Class A 1218 is preparing to depart Salisbury, NC on an excursion to Asheville, NC. I noticed how polished the railhead was, so set the camera on the rail for the photo.
