  • I remember one of the loneliest times for me at school was when it was playtime. Looking around to see who and if you could play with someone. I think though it made me learn to like my own company .. I am still very much happy to be in my own world. This image can be seen in my new book ‘memory’.

  • Another one for my series on school. And more work drawn from my relationship with school.

  • corner of mission and 2nd street, san francisco, holga madness. / kodak tri-x turns out this is just up the road from the new RB office, but I didn’t know that when I took it. (having only been to the US thrice i still find steam rising from the vents in the street most evocative, the locals probably find it annoying)

  • more medium format Holga goodness / untouched by an Adobe product

  • When my film came back from the lab and I pulled this photo out of the bag I nearly dropped my hat. A triple twist of champion arcitecture, HolgaMadness and (accidently) Magritte. I don’t think I can top this. So I am going to stop. You can relax now Danny. Battersea Powerstation, London Untouched Medium Format scan. Cross processed. Part 1 in a series

  • Hasselblad 503CW / Carl Zeiss Distagon CF50mm T* FLE / Kodak Portra 800 / Epson v750 Pro

  • This image can be found in my book I wasn’t going to say much about this image but I thought I would just paste in the reply I gave to Matt’s comment about it: A couple of weeks ago I went to my daughters school for a meeting – at the same time she had come out for playtime – I was watching her and witnessed a group of girls that kept running away from her – leaving her standing alone – in the end she stood there crying. I left the office and went outside to pick her up and comfort her – it was only then that the teacher noticed. When I was looking through my negs this afternoon I saw this one and it made me think of it .. There is an anti-bullying day at her school on friday .. they all have to wear blue .. i hope things improve but it does seem, sadly that the playground hasn’t changed that much. So yes, this is exactly what I was aiming for.

  • Another image taken on a Hasselblad and another image for my developing ‘Childhood Narratives’ portfolio.

  • A self developed Holga shot / A broom / A mannequin minus a nose I fail to see what else I could have done to improve this.

  • This is a PS composite of three Holga shots, the Frisco skyline, a window on Alcatraz and me on the tube in London. What I am trying to say here is that deep underneath everything that exists, there is a filthy window, and if you can peer through this darkness and into your imprisoned inner being you can see …... ....that the fucking Northern Line is suspended again.

  • Located on the west coast of Sardinia, Italy, I ventured upon this gem of a beach hidden away – after following a dirt track down past an old factory this beautiful vista unfolded. / Travelling with work, I must admit… that job was tough…but someone had to do it The image was taken on my fully mechanical 120 film Widelux panoramic camera on slide film (ASA100) and electronically scanned via an Epson V700. The Widelux has a rotating lens across a 150 degree arc – it sometimes is a little slow on the start of its “scan” hence over-exposure at the leading edge can occur… as seen here. 1/60sec ; f11

  • Fine art photography print taken with a Holga camera on black and white film. Taken on a brief visit to Chicago in December 2006

  • Holga MadnessTM Near Scienceworks Adobe? Pah.

  • “Reminds me of a scene from a French film I’d rather forget” Underground tunnel leading from the Natural History Museum to the Science Museum, London. Untouched Medium Format scan Part 10 in a series

  • This is in the Temple complex in London, which, asides from being ‘very very old’ is quite peaceful, still all gaslit too. they shoot a lot of films here. Least of which was ‘the vinchi coad’ or something, in the circular temple of the Knights of the Templar. Apparently there are only two circular churches in England. So there. Holga, cross processed, Kodak E100G, untampered with blah blah.
