A balance between the government and people. / The very rich invest in their community in balance with the government, this includes talking to the people to find out what is needed in their area. / Young and old minds need stimulation, without this children and adults have no self worth and have nothing to aim for in their lives.Young children and many adults have lost the means of communication, this is one of the most important things needed in our community. / This has been going on for so many years, yet government s just don’t listen, why? It’s there, it’s been spoken about for many years and yet more children are drawn into crime by their “new street family”, no selfworth, nothing to aim for, no future and broken familys. This is happening around the world in most country’s yet governments still don’t get it! / The 11th commandment is about all people, no matter what colour or culture / it’s about change and understanding, it’s about communication, listening and investing in the most important thing we all have…...life.

Nikon D60, Sigma 50-500mm. Tripod mounted Tried my first shot of the moon last night but was so interrupted. I had another go at it tonight and pleased with the results. Photoshop work….a wee tad of sharpening and cropping, otherwise straight off the camera. / Our full moon will be in two nights (13th Dec) or so it says on the Net
Nikon D60, Sigma 50-500mm / F/6.3 1/160sec A good way to beat the summer heat – get outside in the breeze and watch the moon rise. Shot from my front yard last night (Perth, WA)
I know I already put this car up but I want to enter it into a challenge. I like this shot better with the door open. This is how the doors really open. This one says Happy 11th Birthday Son for the challenge. This car is such a piece of art. Thank you for checking out my new work. Troy W. Smith

A few days ago Shelly Hiebert asked for us to post a self-portrait, so that we can emerge from behind the camera and others can learn a little more about the shooter. Well, I learnt how incredibly difficult it is to take a decent self-portrait. I think I finally got one I don’t mind sharing, it depicts a day in my life that will haunt me forever. Taken with Nikon D300, Sigma 28mm f/2.8 MF lens and SB800. If you would like to participate in this challenge, please follow this link
Gadsisar is a scenic rainwater lake situated in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. It was built in 1156 and later rebuilt by Maharwal Garsisingh in 1367. A beautiful arched gateway decorates the lake. The lake is surrounded by ghats, temples, cenotaphs and gardens.
Gadsisar Lake in Jaisalmer city, the rainwater fed reservoir, was built in 1156 AD and rebuilt in 1367AD by Maharwal Garsisingh. Until 1965, it remained the city?s only water supply. It is adorned with an arched gateway, which is believed to have been built by a courtesan. The Tilon ki Pol, the palatial archway at the water?s edge, was built by a local prostitute. The dismayed king tried to severe it down, but not the one to stay behind, Tilon constructed a tiny temple along the lake, dedicated to Lord Satyanarayan (Krishna, as truth) and ensured the building?s survival. Along the lakeshore and on the islands, is a plethora of little temples and cenotaphs. Arrayed all around the tank, are many small shrines and temples. An extraordinary plumage of birds can be seen here. Camera: Nikon D70S, 70-300mm / It got featured in Incredible India Group on 26.7.09
The 11th Corps were formed in France in 1915.
Life goes on, down by the river. Folks are peacefully mingling about the World Trade Center complex. I imagine this must have been just like this on Sept. 10th, 2001. Oddly enough, if you look really close at the left side of this image, (at the second set of palm tree trunks inside the building), does it not appear as if one of the towers is kicking out a white cloud and above the cloud it appears to be crumbling? Crap, not sure that I can leave this posted now, I just can’t bear watching images of the towers pancaking and coming down …. Taken with Nikon D200 and Nikkor 24-120mm lens. HDR image created from single RAW image using ReDynaMix. / Best viewed in Large for sure! This image is currently on display at the Walls Fine Art gallery in Downtown Norfolk, VA. Price here closely matches gallery price.
As we are nearing the 8th anniversary of 9/11, I wanted to post this shot of Lower Manhattan. I am a bit ashamed to say, that I have not seen the New York City skyline with the World Trade Center Towers. I can only imagine how magnificent it must have looked. We shall never forget!
This day consumes my heart, let us remember them all. September, 11th 2001
