The fireworks display at Lake Murray, SC, july 4th, 2009. These shots were taken from the dam, near the Irmo side. I had never been there to watch before, so I didn’t know how far to walk out on the dam for an unobstructed view. What I got was a view above the treeline of a finger of land in the foreground. Used my 75-300mm zoom at 300mm due to the distance, iso 400, f18, 6 secs

further extending my fascination with lights and long exposure shots, I took a whole lot the other night at Box Hill Station. The lights and illuminated signs were white and blue. I took long exposures while moving the camera, ‘painting with the light. I have enhanced the ‘blueness’ to achieve this more abstracted look. enjoy.

Some may be wondering why I have been inactive lately; therefore, I would like to update everyone on what I’ve been up to. For the past month I’ve been spending time with my baby daughter – who is now 5 months old -, preparing our older children for the new school year, and working on my web site. I’ve been following the forums and viewing other’s work during this time, as well. I must say that I am quite impressed with the growth and work of my peers. During the month of August, I was able to do one photo shoot, which I hope to show the results soon. With the two older children in school and my web site nearly completed, it is my expectation to become a bit more active here on RedBubble. Regards, / Al
