4385 photo’s and I finally got the one I was looking for!
.....
I was trying to capture the whole environmental aspect here…..and what may happen in the future if changes are not made…(its already happening – photo was taken in Tumut last year).
The Fearless shoot was my chance to really plan a shoot unique to my creative relationship with Alexandra Rodionova. My idea was to compare fashion of today with fashion of around the time I was born, (1967). I used two full issues of Andy Warhols original Interview Magazine for the background. This was really hard for me, because these are really rare and really expensive. But if I wasn’t going to put everything I had into this it just wouldn’t be worth doing. This was one of those shoots were everything came together. The hair, (Mark), the makeup, (Caroline), the outfit, the background, the lighting, everything. / Photo by Jef Harris / http://www.jefharris.net
Hello all! So RedBubble is about sharing creativity. Getting your art ‘out there’. And we’re not limited to the RedBubble website….
Hello all! So RedBubble is about sharing creativity. Getting your art ‘out there’. And we’re not limited to the RedBubble website. We want to actively support initiatives that bring your art into the physical world. To this end we have this awesome logistic engine that we can use to support you. For example, if you want to put on a gallery exhibition RedBubble can look at sponsoring your exhibition through the manufacture and delivery of the art for the exhibition. And we’ve already started doing this. The first RedBubble sponsored exhibition is by a group of Melbourne photographers called the Silverminers. Their exhibition is called ‘Unsensored 07’ and here’s a bit of information from the Silverminers: “Unsensored07 is an exciting upcoming independent exhibition organised and run by a small group of photographic artists who practice and value work with film in this day of digital conveniences. The exhibition will feature 12 artists, all with a very distinct style and will take place between 26th October and 10th November at Kerala Gallery in Melbourne, Australia. What makes this show quite distinct is the fact that all works are on film / - considered a dying (if not dead) art form that carries a lot more spirit and tradition and has certain genuinity to it. More importantly, is what this means on a social / environmental / cultural parallel that is really important. Shooting film in an age where digital photography is readily available and is a lot faster, simpler, and more convenient represents the vinyl in the mp3 world, the live gig in the lap-top album culture, the bike ride to work amongst other things and strongly comments on the ‘more of everything / less substance in anything’ contemporary reality, uniformity and loss of personal touch, consumer based everything and loss of true genuinity.” You can find more information at the Silverminers profile or on their website. - Peter P.S. – 3324 different works of art were sold on RedBubble in September! P.P.S. – Sponsoring exhibitions isn’t the only thing we’re looking at to help you get your art ‘out there’. There’s a store in Singapore that wants to stock RedBubble t-shirts, there a few folks around the world who want to re-sell RedBubble cards and there’s many more things we’re looking at. And we’ve got an open mind about new ideas! P.P.P.S. – If you’ve got an idea for getting your art out there and you’d like RedBubble’s support, send Peter a BubbleMail.

The lights of The Twin Tower Memorial can be clearly seen in this long exposure on New York’s Brooklyn Bridge. One night each year New Yorks lights the Twin Beams which illuminate the night. The City, excepptional and magical at the best of times leaps to another level.

ABOUT MY EXHIBITION The woks exhibited represent the linkup of two artists, a photographer and a sculptor. Such an attempt to blend two spheres of art is really innovative and a bit unexpected. There had been few who were successful in such an attempt. Both authors, blending their art by the means of the photo art, are the winners. Sculpture, as such, is rather a static art, sometimes “performing” in a specific, sometimes artificial, environment. However, the means of the plastic photography, seemingly, make the sculptures movable, dynamic; they make you feel the sculptures are moving. They become alive, start moving and react both to the environment and the views captured by the photographer. I would like the viewers also note the colour solutions of the photos, aimed at the strengthening of the overall impression of the imagery. The original blend and overlapping of two arts let see the impressive plastic metaphors, giving birth to various associations. CLICK PHOTO IF YOU WANT VIEW / /
