I thought I would do a close up of todays wonderful sunrise.

I know this plant as silver bush, but it might have other names as well. They grow in coastal areas, usually in sand right at the edge of the beach.

This Statue is erected in tribute to Elizie Crisler Segar. Born in Chester, Illinois December 8, 1894 – It sits in a small park just as you cross the Mississippi river bridge going from Missouri to Chester Illinois. Mr. Segar created Popeye from his recollection of Frank “Rocky” Fiegel – A local scrapper in the Chester area – Popeye first appeared in the Thimble theater in Jan, 17, 1929. William “Windy Bill” Schchert, the Chester Opera House Owner and Mr. Segar’s benefactor appeared as “Wimpy the hamburger Fiend.

This is a Clovis stone spear point made by the American Indians – This is from the Paleo histroical period and it dates some time between 20,000 and 30,000 years BC. The earliest stone points were the finest workmanship since the Indians depended upon them for almost all of their survival. The Indians actually attached a wooden handle to these and used them just as we use metal hoes today. This is from the Mississippian historical period and dates around 1400 AD to 1000 BC Another Eye special

I don’t know why, but everywhere I go these days I see these beautiful, colourful weeds. By the side of the road, in a field, hiding in the garden. Some of these are magnificent…I’m not sure that this is one such magnificent creature, but I like to capture the neglected and ignored flowers around me and give them a once-over.
