Just a brilliant unplanned moment on the street when I was fortunate enough to “have the camera rolling”... / Geneva, 2006.

This guy was pretty cool, sitting there minding his own business, and I just had to get the shot. But as I lifted the camera and looked through the lens he just broke into this mean stare into the lens like he was gonna hurt me. I saw it and quickly pressed the shutter. Later I complimented him on his tattoos and showed him the shot and it was then that his frown turned into a broad grin…phew!

Hard to do something different in this much photographed area…well, I guess jumping the fence in front of busloads of tourists and standing by the cliff edge to get to the best vantage spot does help!!...much to their surprise I might add…I figure, we photographers have a pass to do this and are exempt by the boundaries put in front of us.. / This shot is another HDR to drag the tones out during what would have normally been fairly uninspiring light. / cheers, Rob.

This little gem can be found just around the corner from Loch Ard Gorge near Port Campbell off Victoria’s Great Ocean Road, Australia. I came here the afternoon before and there were snap happy tourists everywhere but decided to come back the next morning and there wasn’t a soul in sight, just the crashing ocean to keep me company… Unfortunately as of early June 2009 this archway has collapsed leaving two apostles next to eachother. Taken at Loch Ard Gorge on the Great Ocean Road, VIC. This was shot with a Mamiya RZ67 on Ilford Pan F 50 ISO film. Only other details I remember was that it was shot with a 50mm lens, equivalent to about 24mm in 35mm format. I hand developed the film myself, scanned it and added the sepia toning with Photoshop.
