From my series World from Above. I am always fascinated by patterns like this created by farmers when laying out their fields. This one is dedicated to my mother, who loves this view! Taken from a commercial plane shortly before landing at Munich airport. This is pretty typical of villages and countryside of this part of Lower Bavaria. Nikon D200, Sigma 18-200mm. Post-pro in CS2. 11/20/09 ~ Featured in Rural Around the Globe ~ Thank you kindly!!! :o) Two female cardinals in my Mimosa Tree. This is a digital compilation of two cardinals who landed in my tree at different times (same day). Original photos taken January, 2008. Cardinals: The female cardinal is a familiar backyard bird. It is a buff brown bird with tinges of red on crest and wings and a large red bill. They are non-migrators and eat seeds, insects and fruit and are common visitors at bird feeders. Cardinals can be very territorial in the spring and are know to fight their own reflections.

This is an acrylic painting on canvas 76×1x4cms. This area is just outside Melbourne and a place where vineyards flourish. I enjoyed the slightly abstract method of painting this.
While taking our train ride we came across this old home all alone, yet beautiful in my eyes. Curitiba Brazil was our beginning spot it has a population of 1,587,315 people. The city is large but very well organized! Lovely homes, among the highrises, lots of parks, great food, friendly people, alot of history, just a wonderful place to vist.

Located near White Pass Summit, British Columbia, Canada on the Klondike Highway. The Tormented Valley contains large areas having an almost “lunar” appearance, making this one of the most unique eco-systems in North America. Here you will explore a forest-tundra ecotone consisting of the blending of a stunted forest of three hundred year old trees, known as “krummholz”, and alpine tundra. / As I took photos in this area, I stared at the appearance of the tiny trees and rock surface like it was from outer space. Saved from Death and worse than death, / Another soul to live! / Our Sister Susan, here, draws breath, / For you were kind to give. Poem® 19 Nov 2009, Dayonda Stribling / www.redbubble.com Photo ed’s note: This pic is deliberately darkened around Susan’s eyes to bring them out in all their beauty. Susan’s face has been electronically edited in the tradition of old-fashioned oil-paints-on-a-print enhancement. If you’re using a laptop and you can’t see Susan’s face, tip your screen toward you, that should do it. / __ When we first met Susan on a mission to a rural village in April 2007, she was in the later stages of death. Her body was infested with intestinal worms. Medicines would not work. I prayed for her in the village, along with two other mission volunteers. We left to continue our journey. But God spoke to me, and we returned that evening and put her in our old battered vehicle and brought her to our mission centre. We continued to pray and command death to leave her alone. 5 days later and God had completely healed her. Now as you see, Susan is completely healed. She shares her testimony with us on missions into other villages and many have also received healing and hope. Praise God! Please help us to continue to reach others in dire illness and need and extreme poverty. Some of you may have noticed that we are from Marquand Missouri from the information on our profile page. Actually we live some ten miles from the town. This is the post office in Marquand. Yes it is really that small, like the town which has less than three hundred on the population sign at the edge of town. Very much Small Town USA. Marquand was originally settled in 1804 by Capt. Henry Whitener and Michael Mouser, and was known as Whitener Settlement. The town was renamed in 1869 after W. G. Marquand, a railroad administrator, who donated $1,000 for the construction of a church. The town was incorporated in 1906. In 1924 a highway bridge was built over the Castor River. It has a population of 264. (Source Wikipedia)
