WEARS VALLEY,SHOT AFTER A BLIZZARD. 1993 / CANON EOS 10S,VELVIA,28-75MM LENS
Red barn in a winter snow storm.
Red Barn Jo Davies County, northwest Illinois / (Antiqued with textured layers)
This shot was taken around 7pm on a warm late July evening. The sun broke through the cloud cover just enough to show itself. Canon Rebel/XT 1/60 @ F/13, Canon 105mm Ultrasonic. Softened slightly in Elements4.
“Rural Peace” was shot in the Appalachian area of wesern North Carolina and as nice as the scene was I thought it could benefit from a little added texture.
Old farm plow seeder oil painting folk art country artwork with farm tools of the southern United States, vintage rusted plowing done on farms in the past.
HDR shot with Olympus 550 UZ using 3 frames bracketing then post processing in Photoshop CS4. / I took this late in the evening while out for a drive here in Leitchfield Kentucky. Where we live there are so many hills that it is common to get a photo of a hilltop with an interesting silhouette of an old barn. As you can tell from my photos, I love old barns. As I sat there taking photos, I couldn’t help but notice how quiet and peaceful this scene was. The air was crisp and sweet. Some days I do miss living in a large city because of all of the things that are available to do. But then, in the city you never get to see all of the stars in the sky. And, you never smell clean sweet air like I do here and you never see the wildlife that I see here daily. I think I will stay in the country and just visit the city every now and then.
taken on a rainy foggy autumn day…this decaying barn is located on Route 519 in Eighty Four, PA. 6 photo HDR shot in RAW format / Aperture Priority / f/16 / ISO-100 19 October 2009…featured work in The Red Barn
How many more more storms can this old barn take before going down? I took this just down the road from my home here in Leitchfield Kentucky. It was taken just before the Sun should have been setting. I had gone out searching for a good Sunset to take photos of but the Storm clouds were rolling in, I spotted this barn and stopped briefly to take a few shots of it. Never did get any good Sunset photos that afternoon because it started to rain just a few minutes after I took this.

This barn was constructed in early 1840; it was built entirely with wooden pegs and is still in excellent condition. The barn is located in Western Pennsylvania.

Ross’s Corner in Sussex County, NJ, USA. My grandfather is descended from the Ross Family of NJ/NY… Scots they were. Many generations ago they farmed the land but then the sons wanted to leave for the city life and the land has been sold a number of times over.
Nikon d90 / Nikkor VR 18-105 mm lens / Raw / 1/60s – f/8 / ISO 280 / focal length 66mm / cropped and converted to jpeg in google picasa Field and barn in South Glastonbury, CT I had planned to take some landscape photos of this area after work so that I could catch the light as the sun went down. Remembering to bring my camera to work was a victory in and of itself and I couldn’t wait to get out there. The day turned rainy and I thought it would be a waste of time to still scope out the area. / Turned out I was wrong. What I discovered is that I liked everything better through the cloudy sky because it seemed to intensify the colors and added great mood. I’m not sure how people take pics in the rain (do you use a cover for your camera??) – so I proceeded to slowly drive around, pull over with my blinker on, roll down my windows and twist my body in funny ways to try to get the angles and pics I was hoping for. At one point the rain turned on me and came beating in through the window I was looking out of – so I quickly rolled up and shot through the window – and liked it very much. That is how this shot came to be. It makes me feel calm, safe and peaceful.
Same barn after a couple feet of snow fell. Gallatin Valley, north of Bozeman, Montana.
