I TRY to keep away from purple, blue and pink….but i caaaaant!!! Those colours are contageous! I dont find any others attractive anymore. Its worrying me. All my recent art is either purple or sepia. / I hope its just another temporary obsession…..but its too long! It will pass eh… FEATURED!! In the Purple Passion group!!

This is from a larger work called ‘Forbidden Fruit’ comprising 25 groups of 5 images. This is the fifth image of group 8. The creative process begins with felt tip pen drawings on graph paper. These are then scanned into photoshop and digitally manipulated to create the effect of photographed installations. Whilst the content is clearly non-figurative and geometrically derived there is a genuine message to the work. I am either exposing to conscious inspection the archetypical patterns underlying ‘the meaning of life, the universe and everything’ or I’m “completely off my head”. Aster New England Aster.Aster novae-angliae Plant: Erect perrennial 20-120 cm tall from spreading rootstock. Leaves: 4-12 cm long, pointed; lowest leaves toothed with notched bases and slender hairy-edged stalks; stems leaves lance shaped, usually stalkless. Flowerheads: deep purple 1.3-3 cm across;20-35 straplike around a button of yellow tubular florets, with slender bracts at the base; flowerheads in branched, open clusters. Blooms: July to October Fruits: seed-like achenes tipped with a parachute of silky white hairs. Habitat: Woodlands, roadsides, open and often disturbed sites. Distrubution: Quebec to B.C., south to northern U.S. Pick: A few. Growing along the roadside at the end of my driveway- Norwood Ontario Canada
