Promote Each Other

Promote, promote promote

Mike Finley Mike Finley 885 posts
first to recap
In summary, when you joined this forum, you agreed to
  1. regularly promote other members of the group on websites other than redbubble
  2. to also promote other works not from redbubble
  3. to keep other members of the group informed of your activities through the forum, by starting a new topic in the Promo Activities sub-forum

You also agreed that other members of the group could promote any of your works on redbubble on other websites.

Implications
  1. If you are not prepared to promote other people’s work, you should consider whether you should remain in this group. (According to the guidelines, your membership of the group may eventually be terminated if you don’t.)
  2. If you don’t provide links to where you have promoted work (in the appropriate forum section set aside for this), we may assume you aren’t doing any promotion.
  3. If you do not wish other members of the group to post your images, attributed to you, and linked back to their location on redbubble or an alternative website you should leave this group, as by being a member you are agreeing to this being done.

(Note that republished images may not have a blank.gif file over them … this file does not in any case give any meaningful protection if someone wants to copy your work, but if you believe it does you may want to reconsider your membership of this group.)

Changes
Features:
We have started to ‘feature’ those members who are actively doing the promotion that is the reason for existence of this group. (However, don’t assume that the hosts aren’t doing any promotion – we can’t feature ourselves!) This has two purposes -
  1. to reward them
  2. to make it possible for other members of the group to easily see who is actively promoting

We will also shortly be restarting ‘competitions’ for the members, as described in the guidelines. The top ten from these will become featured images, if they have been submitted to the group. In order to permit this we have reopened the art and writing sections (but not journals) for submission initially of a single image etc.

Forums

How to Promote
There is a section in our forums where you can discuss how to promote works on a variety of websites, including blogs, bookmarking sites and social networking sites. You’ll find a lot of information in the General Discussion subforum. It would be much appreciated by the hosts if members could gather this information and restructure it into useful advice in the How to Promote subforum

Suggestions
There is also a new subforum where anyone can make suggestions and discuss changes to the group (Suggestions ). The hosts want your ideas on how to improve the group … and your help in making ideas into reality. We can’t do it all ourselves, and there are a lot more members than hosts … and the group is for the whole of us, and needs all of us to make it work.

I just reusrrected the blog on my website, after moving from geocities!

It is still a bit plain-vanilla in design, but here it is:

It includes a link to one of your picutes, Mike.

I happen to be interested in those real-life photos that so uncannily end up looking like organic abstracts….
