Lindybird is a huge fan of this man’s music, from his days fronting the Jackson Five through the glory days of disco and beyond. He may have made some terrible personal choices, but there is no denying his musical talents and contributions to the worlds of music and dance. / You brought many smiles to this troubled world and did much to try to make it a better place…Rest in Peace, Michael…

One of the polar extremes I go through on a rather frequent and extended basis. While I’m not in that place this moment, I have just recently been there.
A wetlands area I often visit to enjoy nature, and often to capture beautiful photographic images, was the source of this image. This 25 cm. shorebird has a heroic behaviour trait that appeals to me, and I am sure it will to you too. Wikepedia says (look for the trait I am referring to): These birds forage for food in fields, mudflats, and shores, usually by sight. They mainly eat insects. Their name comes from their frequently heard call. These birds will frequently use the “broken-wing act” to distract predators from their nests. This involves the bird walking away from its nesting area holding its wing in a position that simulates an injury and then flapping around on the ground emitting a distress call. The predators then think they have easy prey and are attracted to this seemingly injured bird and away from the nest. If the parent sees that a potential predator is not following them, they will move closer and get louder until they get the attention of the predator. Image captured near Campbell River, British Columbia, using a Nikon D300, with an f4 Nikkor 600 mm lens and 1.4 teleconverter, on a Gitzo monopod, ISO 320, F13, 1/640s. Welcome!
This group celebrated its first birthday on 28th September 2008 – Happy 1st Birthday!
It has been a joy and inspiration hosting it so far! Sharing poetry, creative writing, art and photography.
Among the hundreds and hundreds of pages of submitted work, can be found a treasure trove of artisitic talent ,humour, sorrow, passion, and depth often spurred by personal experiences that are significant and meaningful.
I invite you to take the opportunity to let the creative juices flow and share your art, poetry, writing, clothing, images and journals here in this group.
The group is continuously growing at a rapid rate, so, I would like to ask that we submit only 1 – 2 pieces of artwork at a time please.
Let’s try as a group, to aim for quality not quantity. I look forward to sharing more artistic creations. Thanks for your cooperation.
