Ok.. not really cotton candy.. but it’s the first thing I thought of when I saw the color! :D Thanks for looking!
I had a wonderful visit to a greenhouse yesterday where it’s always summer! Plants and flowers blooming and through the glass the snow is still piled high. A delightful time until my cell phone fell out of my pocket and into the waterfall where I was trying to do a little re-arranging of the potted flowers. Ahh…there’s always something interesting about an outing with the camera! :-) There were the most beautiful hanging baskets of geraniums….a flower seen with such frequency as to render it almost common. Yet when I saw the way the macro lens picked up the tiny stamens and the veining, this ‘common’ bloom appeared to me to be quite a remarkable thing. / Holly :-) MyWebsite

Featured in: / November 2009 In the Pink Beautiful Poinsettia at Centennial Gardens, Toronto. I’ve taken so many shots of Poinsettias and not been satisfied. It seems that there’s so much complexity in their petals and the light and shadows. This was a spectacular new Poinsettia last year – huge in size and soft and fluffy looking. And it turned out it’s also a pleasing image too!
I managed to paint this magnolia just before a heavy fall of snow blackened the flowers. It measures approximately 40×30cms watercolour on Arches hot-press paper.
