A Curious Crane by Elizabeth Cannon
This Crane was raised from an egg by Ben Potterton of Blacksmith’s Cottage Nursery in Norfolk, U.K. / Ben is helping to preserve endangered species by raising them and then finding them a safe breeding environment in order to promote the breed. / I liked the ‘proud’ look of this Crane and the curious look in it’s eye.

Agitated by Ché Ballard
The Eagle Owl didn’t seem too keen for me to take this picture, puffing himself up, hissing and clicking his beak. Or possibly, he was striking a dramatic pose for me…

that which is real within by blackoutangel
“That which the dream shows is the shadow of such wisdom as exists in man, even if during his waking state he may know nothing about it…. We do not know it because we are fooling away our time with outward and perishing things, and are asleep in regard to that which is real within ourself.” / ~Paracelsus / —-—-—-—-—— / photo taken at tedford power plant / more photos online at www.abandonedamerica.org

Lights in the Dark by William Carne
Camera : Sony A-100 / Date and time taken : 12 April 2008. Various times / Focal length : various / F-Number : various / ISO : 100 / Exposure Time : various / Location: Calgary, AB, Canada / Post: The stars are painted in photoshop from scratch. The tree and model are two different pictures that were desaturated and 100% darkened to create the silhouette effect. This idea was inspired from a shot in the movie “The Fountain” where Hugh Jackman is practicing Thai Chi in silhouette in front of stars. I’m doing a series of nudes in mysterious/almost supernatural landscapes and thought this would be a good way to start it. Make sure you click on the picture to view it at max. resolution. Since it is black on black it doesn’t look like much in the smaller images. The first image of my “Dreams” series.

Front Row Seats by Matt Merritt
Twilight storm at Lido Key beach. The two brightest celestial bodies are the Moon and Venus. Because of the storm most people cleared the beach, but because of the storm, I was drawn towards it. I didn’t modify the picture except to increase the brightness and contrast a bit, and remove camera artifacts. I’m not too good at making photos look more ‘artistic’, but for landscape, atmospheric, and flower photos, I think I prefer the more natural look. Unfortunately, I did not get another good shot of lightning that evening – I forgot to bring my tripod, so the photos prior to this one are too blurred. I captured this clear shot by setting my camera on a beach chair, and propping up the lens with one of my flip-flops. And this stroke of lightning was the last significant one. But I’m sure grateful for it! / (Photo taken on July 17, 2007)

Liquid Gold by Joanne Bradley
Taken at sunset at Laval-Ouest beach on 22/04/08. Used my Canon A75. I am pleased with the color and calmness of the lake. The name came to me instantly. Although it cannot be seen by the viewer this area was flooded out and I had to take the shot from across the road as the water had spilled over.
