First impression: good! Nice subject, I can imagine it in a calendar or so :) It’s nearly dead-center composition. You may want to add some interest using off-center (rule of thirds) composition. On the other hand, your subject is more or less symmetrical, so central composition may work too. For that case, I’d try to put center of the flower precisely to the center of the picture (it is little bit to the right and down just now). I’d also try square crop: with symmetric composition (symmetrical subject), it often works very well; then see which format you like better. Just next to the upper left corner, there’s a blown-out highlight. It can happen very easily when photographing subjects with water droplets, but a highlight just next to the border is usually quite a distraction. Different crop would help to solve this, too. I like the shallow DOF, with sharp center of the flower :) Have a nice day and good light :) |
