I’d like you guys to do a few things:
1. Tell me what you think of the photo.
2. Tell me what techniques you see used here (like rule of thirds, open aperture, fast shutter, etc)
3. Tell me what post-processing you think would be a good idea for this photo (if any).

Remember to play nice or your post will be deleted and your involvement in this group will be considered for termination.

(Its a good idea to click the images link and view it in full before critiquing!)

A lovely inspiring image.

I would love to see it more cropped closely.. and possibly “straightened ” to make it point slightly upward.. the leaf , that is .

other than that, the depth, the reflection, the clarity and crispnessand the subject is marvelous !!!

haha Isa if yo rotated the image the drop would be defying gravity

I think that the back lighting really add character to this image. It allows us to see the structure of the leaf and adds definition to the leading edge.

I like Isa’s idea of tighter cropping and the slight rotation so the edge of the leaf has is a bit more diagonal for leading the eye in to the droplet…as for gravity, a slight change in angle is not so noticable and this is the magical world of photography where we can convince about the slightly impossible being quite possible. On the other hand with a close look at the droplet shape it would not be out of order to rotate the leaf upwards a little.
There is a slight “blow-out” or glare in one spot on the underside of the leaf which is distracting. I see that you have this image in the group “untouched macro” – hence obviously this is “from the camera”. If you were to post process, I would clone out this glare spot.
Colours are great and the very muted background colours are wonderful too.
