I’d like you guys to do a few things:
1. Tell me what you think of the photo.
2. Tell me what techniques you see used here (like rule of thirds, open aperture, fast shutter, etc)
3. Tell me what post-processing you think would be a good idea for this photo (if any).

Remember to play nice or your post will be deleted and your involvement in this group will be considered for termination.

(Its a good idea to click the images link and view it in full before critiquing!)

I think this is a very beautiful and moody image, I don’t see anything wrong with the composition (although I’m no expert). The falling water draws the viewer to the girl. The only thing I’d say is that the highlights in the brigh spot are a bit blown. And the vignetting works very well here.

I love this image. The natural light gives a secluded, private mood. The flash gives stops the front water drops and fills the girl’s back.

I can think of nothing to add or change.

I too love this image. The only thing I find slightly distracting is the print on her suit. I would select out her bottoms and darken the shadows. But even with out that, its wonderful! Perfect composition, wonderful use of natural light. I like the subdued coloring. It really sets the mood. Great shot!!

Thanks for the comments. I think the costume could have been nicer, maybe a bikini and maybe with the hair down instead of tied back. I cropped this image to give this composition as the original is wider. I also warmed it up slightly as the original white balance was quite cold. I was very new to photogaphy at the time so I must admit there was a degree of luck involved

I too find this to be a very good photo.

The burn out in the water bothers me a bit, but I am just looking for something to critique.

Well done, handheld is quite daring at that shutter speed.

Peter, I actually like her hair up because it shows off her back more, which I find to be one of the sexiest parts of the human body. If it were posed, I would have had her actually lifting her hair with her hands, as if she is putting it up, and enjoying the water falling on her back.
