Bella’s first trip to the groomer.
My daughter brought this home. It was barely the size of a quarter. It is now as big as my hand.
This is one of the baby geckos that Katie’s gecko had, one day she started to dig in the sand furiously it went flying everywhere and when she had finished her log that she sleeps under was on top of a large mound,LOL it looked so funny. Jokingly I said to Grahame perhaps she’s been laying eggs and he scoffed at me and said he didn’t think so (at the time we thought the 3 geckos were all females). Anyway he decided to sort the tank out but when he went to flatten the sand he discovered 2 eggs. We dashed to the local garden centre which also sells tropical fish and got a large polystyrene box , a heater and a thermometer. He covered the bottom of the box with water put in a large ceramic plant pot unturned on which he sat a smallish box filled with vermiculite, he fixed the heater ,and attached the thermometer and put the lid on. He sat the thermometer on the side and when the temp reached the correct heat he nestled the 2 eggs in the vermiculite. Now all we could do was wait and hope the eggs would hatch, Grahame checked them now and again as he read that they take about 4 weeks to hatch, we kept the water topped up to make sure it stayed nice and humid and then one day Grahame opened the box to check and 2 tiny baby geckos stared back at him. They are at the moment housed in a plastic tank which is why this photo is rather scratchy, I just couldn’t resist sharing this photo. They are so cute and are now about 2 months old and starting to get their leopard patterns and colouring. Taken Friday 25 September 2009, Canon Powershot SX10 IS. / Havant, Hampshire,UK. Best viewed large, so you can see how cute the baby gecko is, LOL
A shot of my rabbit, Hazel. I tried to get down low to give a rabbits view perspective and to give the shallow depth of field with the grass in the foreground. Canon 400D / ISO 200 / 1/50th / F5.6 / Tamron 55 – 200mm @ 200mm / No Flash / Handheld with beanbag
Jarpie is growing up – will need to find him a pond home soon.
Stylized photo of Hericthys Labridens from Media Luna Mexico. This beautiful yellow fish can attain a length of eleven inches. Unfortunately the species is being cross bred out of existence by an invasive cichlid species, Hericthys carpinte.
Looby Lou AKA ‘Sir Poop Alot’ one of my first parrots of many. He has the beak of a giant and is as gentle as a lamb! A Male Alexandrine, the name derived from Alexander the Great who had one as a pet, his type an Adriatic. Over time I have handraised many baby parrots he has never shown the least bit of jealousy, loves kisses & happy dances, whistles (all be it slightly manic) the whole of the Laurel & Hardy theme tune!! He’s a true love of mine :D Canon EOS 50D / Canon 18-55mm lens / Speedlite flash Best viewed large for detail. / Thank you for looking
After an afternoon of play, Koko was worn out. I was crawling all over the floor taking pictures of her, and she didn’t budge. But when I went to the other side of the house and whispered “dinner”, she was there before I could finish the second syllable! Koko was a starving stray when we found her 6 years ago, and it seems she has never forgotten how it felt to go hungry. She lives by the saying “You can call me anything, but don’t call me late for dinner.” Canon Rebel XS 50mm f1.8 ISO 200 I am working on close ups, so PLEASE give me any advice you can.
This is my first ever use of pastels.

It’s all about bringing out the best in ourselves each day, and all around us. It’s more about respect and responsibility than ownership. With lovin’ eyes it’s so clear. This shot was taken the very moment Taka spotted Delta coming for her first swim ever down at our local dog beach. Nikon D70s; Sigma50-500mm lens;f/6.3; 1/200sec; 500mm focal length ...and here he goes showing off for her, playing SuperMan, typical guy-stuff…
