Ya Llevo solo un Ano viviendo fuera de Venezuala pero LA Municipalidad de Chacao estuvieron haciendo unos mejoramientos a las calles de Chacao y al Medio Ambiente en General
I think what you said – Sadly Good Work about sums up the picture perfectly. The two sides of a city – 2 sides of a country. For me The Camionetas are the perfect Irony that sadly exists in the Venezuelan Mindset – particularly US Imports. Everyone wants to drrive one – and Everly Malandro is going to want to steal it….so unless you are in Tha A-Team I simply cannot understand the mentality of wanting to own one. Is it a death Wish. I had an ex-student robbed at Gunpoint in Barquiseimeto where his ex wife lives. He was returning his son to her after a weekend in Caracas and stopped at a McDonalds/Gas Station…. They left him with his underwear, stole his Cellular, Laptop and Camioneta! He was lucky!
The Beauty and The Beast. Always hurts to say that as I love Venezuela and Caracas despite all the hatred. I hate Cities and Caracas to this day is the only one I ever felt comfortable in – even if it is classified as the second most dangerous city in the World after Rio de Janeiro. It actually reminds me of a Jungle – odd but it takes some explanation. El Centro in particular reminds me of something out of a Rambo Movie – but in Concrete!

Sure is – I actually miss the Parrots in the Morning. Many hate them but I guess if you come from a country in which the only Parrot is the one behind the counter in the Local Shop (particularly when you are in a hurry and wish she’s stop rambling’ then they are a delight to see in The City as well as the Jungle – one of the things I love about Caracas.
Have you been to Colonial Tavar???? I am disgusted I didn’t bring my camera… and it is such a surreal place!
