Strange Tree
I cannot remember the name of these dd trees but they are quite common in Venezuela where I lived for several years… They atcually use the nutshells from these megafruits as bowls..
This was snapped in A garden Near Plaza Francia in Altamira, Caracas about 5 years ago….. with my first digital Camera an Olympus 2.1 Mpx
Converted to B&W and “softened” using Digital Darkroom Techniques in CS2
For those of you then who feel this is not Photography and Photoshop Darkroom is not Valid…. I suggest you light a match in your darkroom and take up tiddlywinks!!!
Same deal/same processes you would use in a traditional darkroom – bar the signature!
The Tree is in a park in front of Centro Plaza, Altamira, Chacao – Caracas!

Si, sin duda son Taparas, la manera en que crecen las ramas y la forma de las hojas es distintivo.
El nombre del fruto en ingles es Calabash o Gourd y el cientifico del árbol es Crescentia Cujete.
Se cultiva en Centro y Sur América, el relleno se utiliza para tratar problemas estomacales, gripe y asma y hasta como tinte para tapar las canas, las hojas para la hipertensión. La fruta tiene una envoltura leñosa que al secarse puede servir para diversos utensilios, entre los cuales los mas comunes son maracas, vasijas, pocillos, bandejas, etc. Ampliamente usada por muchas etnias indigenas de Venezuela.
Ahora en cuanto a la imagen ;) Excelente procesamiento, la conversion a blanco y negro ha quedado muy bien, veo que aclaraste los tonos verdes, casi parece una fotografia de infra rojo. Buen trabajo.
