Fiesta Mugs
This is my first attempt at the Domestic Art group. I’ve been spying on them for months and haven’t submitted anything.
Fiesta Mugs belongs to the following groups:

I like the opposing colors of the mugs. The patterned table cloth fits very nicely.
Is the composition overly centered? Did you consider the so-called ‘rule of thirds’? The reason I ask is because the composition feels divided in half both vertically and horizontally.
I’m curious about lighting. Did you experiment with any side lighting?
Most of you images tell a story. This one is more like a vignette. I like the way you’ve gotten low and shot up at the blue mug. This image shows me history, nostalgia, balance, and some tension (the mug might fall). I think you’re on to something here!
Is fiesta a style of dishes?

I always think about the rule of thirds and use it when I can. This is a cupboard and space was tight. I used natural light because it seemed to work. I’m getting better at playing with different lighting when I shoot a subject, but I don’t have the most advanced equipment. I just kind of do what I can with what I have.
Thanks for the nice comment. And yes, Fiesta is a dish brand that makes nostalgic dishes. My sister has many different colors. : )

I’ve been trying, but it’s not as easy at it looks (well not for me) ha ha. I love some of the photos people come up with.

the colours and lighting are great and all credit for the tight spot in the cupboard! You should see some of my coloured china….ah oh…coloured china journal???
