I love to play in many mediums…painting, digital photography, and drawing. My artwork is usually ambiguous or semi-abstract in nature. To me, ambiguity opens a space for the personal interpretation of the viewer and I try to create space in my work for a sense of reflection.

excellent, again. I really like your work, zoe, very impressive.

  • Thankyou! been working hard on these…simplicity can be deceptive! attempting to take them to the next level so to speak…was lucky enough to have a great painting teacher this last year at uni…very inspirational

Great approach and wonderful results – nature observation is a great teacher indeed and yes it always appears deceptively simple at first – the way our ego brain recognizes it before we sink into the creative abyss of our being.

I am currently working with a similar approach ie photos from nature as the inspirational resource material for work towards a curated group exhibition. Though my medium/supports are with gouache painting and paper in the form of the creative artist books and my, how it gets complicated even though I have kept the design/layouts simple … BUT- I have finally worked through the 3D assemblage viewing presentation resolvement in the last day or two and can see yet I have another week’s work if not more in front of me as my folded papers are now a two sided affair. (sigh – wondering why I just didn’t do works on canvas!)

  • good luck with al of that! I actually made an artists book from the photos to go with these paintings but I took the easy way out and bought a hand made album and painted the cover! but I have done the sticking together of two sided pages as well…acid free double sided tape was my best friend for a while!
