Those Crickets Kept Me Awake All Night! by

Patrici my constant friend and companion.

In the year 2000 I was living alone on my yacht in La Linea, Spain, when a close friend persuaded me to get a ship’s cat, for company. After some thought I agreed and we went, together, to the Cat Welfare Centre in Gibraltar where, we had been told, they had a number of cats looking for homes. The number turned out to be 100 but the staff were quite expert in their knowledge of the cats and helped me to choose one which they thought would be most suitable.

cat, pet, animal, friend, companion, sleep

I have opened a shop with CafePress to sell some of my designs on clothing, iPhone & laptop cases, jewellery and lots more:

Love your story about your ship’s cat, and your beautiful photograph. The tongue sticking out is simply endearing, and helps to make the cat sleeping with head on a pillow even more special.

  • Thank you very much for your comments :)
Patrici has always used a pillow to sleep (11 years) :)
    She likes her comfort :)

This is one spoiled kitty! lol! Terrific capture, Dennis! How lucky he is. We have an identical cat named Mr. P (that’s because we thought he was a girl when he was small and named him Princess ~ didn’t fit!) A fave for me ~ & congratulations on your feature!

  • Thank you very much for your comments :)
    Patrici is female :):)
She was born on St Patrick’s Day and being mistaken for a male was called Patrick.
It was later found out that she was female and renamed Patricki.
When I rescued her from the Cat Welfare I called her Patrici (pronounced pat-ree-ki) and she loves the name :)
    Best wishes
