A moment in time.
In July 2004 there was a ring at the door and a small ball of frozen mud was found lying on the door mat.
After 4 baths the mud and horrid smell began to disappear to reveal what was thought to be a half frozen kitten. The kitten had difficulty in breathing and was taken to the vet who said that it had sinus problems because of the cold. He also said that the cat was fully grown and that, because of a very hard early life, had suffered from malnutrition and this had caused stunted growth.
Now with the name of Alina- Bonita and for the first month, she hid in one room and only showed herself at meal times but, at 2 months began to explore the other rooms.
In 2008 her home became our house in the country and her personality changed enormously, becoming the greatest wanderer and explorer of our group of 7 ex stray cats. Disappearing for hours or even days and often returning with large wounds.
Her attitude to us is quite strange in that when in the house she is loving and affectionate (even sleeping on our pillow at night) but when she is outside she seems to see us as monsters and runs in panic to put as much distance between her and us as possible.
All her problems seem to be related to her early life and no matter that she receives heaps of love and attention she remains quite disturbed when outside the house.
