My interpretation of the Mary Celeste wearing the rig that she was originally found in. The sails had been professionally furled, she was rigged for rough weather and one lifeboat was missing, all of which points to the fact that the ship had been caught in a storm and the crew had abandoned ship believing that she was about to sink…..The Mary Celeste drawing is in the vector format (no auto trace/copy) and the sea and sky are digital paintings.

The Mary Celeste (or Marie Céleste as it is fictionally referred to by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and others after him) was a British-American merchant brigantine famous for having been discovered on 4 December 1872 in the Atlantic Ocean, unmanned and apparently abandoned (one lifeboat was missing, along with its crew of seven), although the weather was fine and her crew had been experienced and capable seamen.
