    Excellent capture Gregg. Very seldom do I see these guys present such a clear photo op and then sit still long enough to let us capture the shot. If there’s not branches obstructing part of the subject, there’s often lots of brush/distractions in the background.

    And then you have to get the exposure darn near perfect on three of the toughest colors (i.e., red, white, and black) to not blow out the highlights or lose detail in the blacks. Great job on this one!!

    Beautiful photo! I photographed oen today. I didn’t even know what kind of woodpecker it was. Now I know. It moved very fast, hard to capture. Your photo is fantastic.
