The artist Zhao, Ze (Zhao is his family name ), male, was born on July 18, 1955 in Sichuan Province, Peoples Republic of China. His mother and father were both leading actors in the traditional Chinese Opera in Sichuan. He is the oldest child with two younger sisters.

Ze was very fond of drawing since childhood. Later, he engaged in the formal study of art. He studied art at the Sichuan Province Art Research Institute with high-level fine arts and stage design teachers. His study has continued for the 30 remaining years of his life. He excels at portrait oil painting and the creation of stage scenery for fine arts productions.

In fine arts productions for stage he concurrently blends several styles together including the national cultural characteristics, modern and contemporary interests and the unique individuality of the human body.

For many years he has studied various kinds of plays and the design of large-scale cultural activities by different cultural and ethnic societies. He has traveled for professional business purposes to Eastern Europe, India, Japan and Singapore. As a professional stage designer he created and painted stage designs and art for stage performances.

He currently lives in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, China with his wife Feng, Yu Qiong, a retired physical education teacher. He and his wife frequently play ping pong. He also enjoys singing and plays the guitar as well as the traditional two stringed Chinese violin known as an “Erhu”.
