Thanks, me and my partner were in Amsterdam earlier this year and were really inspired by the Van Gogh museum. In fact his early work is often overlooked and my tribute is in boots. I appreciate yor comments and thanks for taking time to look at my work.

Amsterdam is one of my fav. cities try to go as often as possible, it has a special magic and feeling about it and you have managed to capture that, with a feeling of movement and the warm inviting colour. I like it.

Thank you, it is a special place for me too, I proposed to my girlfriend there earlier this year and she said yes. It is a place we will come back to again and again. We visited the Van Gogh museum whilst we were there and his work is astounding, hence this piece and my image Boots which reflects his earlier period.

Thanks Deon, I tried many different plug-ins etc, finally found the method I am most comfortable with but it still takes time and paitence to get the conversion just so ;o) Its a very theraputic process though.

Thank you. I am no painter but I find doing this effect on my images is very theraputic and I love the end result. This in my opinion in this case is much better than the original photogrpah from which it was taken.

Not sure about Gouda where is that? This visit we stayed in the city centre all the time, there was/is just so much to see. But when I was there 20 years ago I travelled all over so may have been there.

Was being cheeky, Glen. I was born in Gouda (supposedly famous for its cheese). It’s situated south of Amsterdam, closer to The Hague and Rotterdam.
I was just chatting, on the phone, to my daughter. I’m in Sydney, where she was born, she’s visiting Paris (again) and off to Amsterdam on Tuesday.
You’re just making me jealous! Daughter and I agree that it would be great if I could have a look around there again. Jo (MrJoop)
