Der Schiessentümpel is a famous little waterfall in the gorgeous Müllerthal. The latter is in a region, often referred to as “Little Switzerland”, in the east of Luxemburg.

The waterfall is, unfortunately, right next to the road, with a convenient parking right next to it, so it tends to get a little crowded and it can be hard to get a shot here without anybody in it.

Inspired by my recent revisits to this beautiful place and by the work of Peter Hill I decided to finally get around to process and upload this shot.

It’s an older shot, from 2009, shot with my Pentax K10D

I’m a little lost for words, Peter, which is unusual for me. Deeply humbled is what I am, in the least. I am so glad you’ve dug this little gem out because it is indeed a gem of a waterfall shot. That triple flow is awesome, and the tones of the foliage and bridge cap it all off. Wonderful shot, and I give a thank you for the kind words here and on my recent waterfall journal. I’m still going to be enormously jealous though of your shots from your trip next year to our Top End!

  • Wow, thank you Pete, this comment means a lot to me as I see you not only as a (very) distant friend but also as one of our in house waterfall experts.
That trip to the top end of Oz is not set in stone yet, far from it even! We are also considering a trip to Svalbard, South-Africa and even buying a motorhome and staying in Europe. :) I will all depend on what we can find price wise…
