Ok, I officially hate scanning my watercolours. I think I just spent about as much time scanning the thing as I did painting it. :^)
All in an attempt to get the scan as close as possible to the real painting, although it’s next to impossible to get the subtle nuances of the watercolour down exactly.

drEyed Rose was sketched in pencil and then painted in watercolour on 13,5×21cm Arches 300g/m² cold pressed paper with Talens dry and tube paint, Mont Martre tube paint and my no longer secret ingredient: Hama retouch watercolours.

The work was inspired by the same rose that triggered this photo:

Nice work, and I sympathize re: the scanning of artwork. Some things scan fine, other things take a lot of adjustment to make them close to the original.

  • Ah, don’t I know it. ;)
    Cheers for the comment Cindy.
