This handsome lady is my wife, the love of my life.

Painted using a combination of Talens dry paint, Talens tubes and Monte Marte tubes on Bristal 210 g/m², A5 size. I also added a pinch of my secret ingredient, my Hama retouch watercolours, a left over from my analogue photography days.

A very good first attempt Peter …. definitely not laughing, well done!!

  • Thank you John, glad you can appreciate it!
Maybe I should have painted her with earplugs, for I did curse a couple of times. ;)
    Definitely something totally different, portraiture.

It is soooooooo hard to paint/draw a real person smiling and make it look legitimate, let alone like the person you’re trying to do a portrait of!! My hat is off to you – she looks lovely :)

  • O yes, the mouth was one of the harder parts, I like drawing eyes better. :) (but who could have guessed that ;) )
    Cheers Mieke!

This is more than just a smile, Peter, there is also warmth and love.
