The fool
I’ve got something with eye’s and flowers, as you will notice when I upload more work. This one is, clearly, inspired by the Tarot card with the same name. It’s a 100% watercolour painting.
I wanted to join up with a surrealism group here, but I’m not sure if this would fit in there. I always call it surrealism, but isn’t it more somewhere on the borderline between surrealism and fantasy art?
With this I’ve introduced the 3 main areas of my artistic endeavors on to RB: still life photography, travel photography and watercolor paintings. I’m calling it a day.
Cheers
The fool belongs to the following groups:
Fantasy Art, Painters In Modern Times, Symbolism in Art, The Eyes Have It, Vibrant and Vivid Color and Watercolour PaintingsAvailable for sale as Cards, Matted Prints, Laminated Prints, Mounted Prints, Canvas Prints and Framed Prints

Thank you Pavlina, it’s like my live’s work. I’ve been drawing these, ehr, flowers for years. Don’t have many usable scans though.

Paul Compton, 6 months ago
Oh this is just gorgeous. Is it a daisy? This would make sense seeing as the word “daisy” means “the day’s eye”. Well done.
Peter Zentjens in reply to Paul Compton’s comment, 6 months ago
I’m totally depressed now. I’ve painted a white rose and you think it’s a daisy. :(
Oh, well, it’s hard to let it look like a rose with a big heart in the middle, but I need some room for those eyes. ;)
So, no, the flower was based on a white rose but actually in the painting it’s not supposed to look like anything real anymore.
Anyway, I’m having you on and I love your comment, it’s fabulous that it sparked you imagination. Cheers.

The fool’s eyeball, as the flower centre, and the earth as a bird’s egg, are both humorous and weird.
And a fried egg sun!!
Superb style and composition, Peter – and in my favourite medium.
A sure fave, to make me smile.
Peter Zentjens, 6 months ago
A fried egg sun? I never looked at it that way!
Thank you so much for the compliments and appreciation of both my style and this work.

BLYTHART, 6 months ago
This is very beautiful in a surrealist sense … I’d love to see more of these fantasy flowers … are there any displayed elsewhere, or maybe you will upload more onto Redbubble. I shall put you on my watchlist and wait patiently to see what you do next.
Peter Zentjens in reply to BLYTHART’s comment, 6 months ago
Hi Blythart, thank you very much for your comment and for putting me on your watchlist. These fantasy flowers are something I’ve been drawing the better part of my life. Yet there are only 8 paintings in existence if I’m counting correctly. They will all appear here, eventually, but a few of them are framed and those will take a while before I get to scanning them. So, if you can’t wait, check out my website zgallery-art.com and look for “the bedroom collection”. Cheers.
BLYTHART, 6 months ago
Peter .. I have just seen your bedroom collection and would suggest others may also like to take a look ... use Peter’s link for the main site and this if you wish to start with the flowers.
Peter Zentjens in reply to BLYTHART’s comment, 6 months ago
Thank you Blythart, the next one in line to be put up for sale as print etc here on redbubble will be “Circle of life”. The scan has been made but I need to calibrate my monitor and make sure the scan is clean before I can upload it.

Wow, thanks thickblackoutline.
I can’t wait to see what my style ends up like as a tattoo (see my journal), but , have to be patient for a few months before seeing that.

So did I Cliff, but it’s so good to get away from the computer every now and again! Give the old drawing board another shot. You want regret it.
