The hasty farewell

A new addition to my Nostalgia series. As you can see the theme is similar to my previous still life, as this new concept was born while shooting the other one. The style is slightly different though, going for a more “cluttered” composition this time.
As usually, this still life was created using my own version of the painted with light technique, of which you can find the tutorial here . There is one big difference with the last few photos, I found a smaller, better flashlight. This one allows me once more to get the “paint” effect more to my liking.
Shot with my Pentax K10D and my 80’s Pentax SMC M 28mm f3.5 lens which I love very, very much!

Peter Zentjens replied
Thanks Max! Actually I’m often longer planning then executing, and yet there go quite some hours in the executing part. :)

Peter Zentjens replied
Hi Susan, thank you your lovely comment! A calendar, yes yes, just one or two shots short. So another week or two…. Cheers for the encouragement!
Trish O'Brien
Well done, the painted light works very well in this, and the rest of the series
Peter Zentjens replied
Thanks Trish, the better painting effect is the result of digging up an older, better, flashlight. I’m so happy that I found a nicer “brush”. :)

Just so very beautiful – love the entire series which I intend to explore when I have more time to appreciate the incredible use of light and shadow to create this “antiqued” effect. Your compositions are totally lovely.
Peter Zentjens replied
Thank you for such a wonderful comment Lianne, much appreciated
