Mount Fuji
Mount Fuji, one of the more magnificent volcanoes on this globe. It’s only a few days a year clear of clouds. In this image you see the last of the clouds disappear, after this, it was totally clear! Lucky us.
But I liked the way the clouds are “playing” with the top of the volcano and the overall misty look, so I chose this image to share with you. If you want to have this view you’ll have to visit the Five Lakes district at the base of the volcano, called Fujigoko in Japanese.
I hope you enjoy the view, if you are interested, here is the wallpaper

The top has it’s own weather pattern….that’s one big mountain!
The clouds and water in the foreground makes this a fantastic shot!!

It sure is, thanks for your enthusiastic praise Von, much appreciated.

Incredible luck to see it like that! I’ve only been to Japan once where it was visible – on the train on the way there. By the time I got to the viewing platform to see it properly, it had meekly retreated behind clouds 8)
Peter Zentjens replied
Oh, bad luck berndt2, we had it the other way around. This where about the most clouds we saw around it. :)
Thanks for the comment.

Lovely shot. You should see it during a sunset; it is like a totally different mountain (it becomes a silky pink or purple, thus looking warm in contrast to a snow topped mountain like here).
Peter Zentjens replied
Hey Mui-Ling Teh, we stayed long enough that day and we did see it with sunset (and nearly froze our buts off, the warm temperatures in Tokyo had misled us). It was indeed a wonderful sight, of which of course I have several pictures. :)
