I am drawn to abstract, complex, multi-layered images because they are rich with possibilities. I like how I can see different patterns every time I look, and how there are layers of detail coming together to form each completed piece.
All the source material came from my own travel photos. The dominant geometric forms I put down to a lifelong fascination with architecture and industrial design. The montages are creating in Photoshop and Illustrator.
More recently, I have started to originate work from hand-drawn sketches done on a stylus-enabled phone and tablet. This technology was not available and barely imaginable when I first started in 2007!
I maintain portfolios of stock vector images on Shutterstock and iStock. These predominantly isometric drawings, though less “arty,” are nonetheless but no less satisfying to draw. Some of them appear here on RedBubble.
I also have a blog on business, innovation, design and psychology: http://eicolab.com.au/blog
