This was a bit of a revisit on a previous photo I took here about earlier in the year. Whilst driving through Belfast, I noticed the sun was setting, and as I had the camera in the car, I just couldnt resist.

Using ND Filters and holding the camera very steady by hand, I took this photo, then tweeked the dark areas slightly in photoshop to get this end result.

Taken with my Nikon DSLR 3100 and edited in Photoshop CS5.

Exposure: 1/10sec
f-stop: f/8
ISO: 400
Lens: Nikor 18-55mm VR Lens.

Hi Chris Joseph here, many thanks for this excellent shot, and for your camera details and settings. I currently use a canon S3 IS powershot which is limited, despite being a bridge camera, and having a manual setting because of its age and the difficulty of being unable to change lenses. Anyway I am purchasing a better DSLR with lens changing facility. Being an amateur would you recommend your camera as a good all rounder to upgrade to ?

  • Hi Joseph, many thanks for the kind words! Ive sent you a message with my thoughts on the D3100! Thanks and happy Christmas!
