Well folks, heres mys first upload taken using my new Nikon D3100 DSLR. Its a bit of an experiment in photoshop using HDR settings. I also used a Polarizer lense to help bring out the sky. It was taken in the fantastic and maybe even my new favourite place of Portpatrick in Scotland, just as they were having a classic lorry and large vehicles show.

Me hopey you likey!

Taken with my new all singing and dancing Nikon DSLR 3100 and edited in Photoshop CS5.

Exposure: 1/300sec
f-stop: f/5
ISO: 400
Lens: Nikor 18-55mm VR Lens.

Oh Chris!! Were you in Portpatrick today???? Darn!
I was sitting in the garden at lunch-time and heard the honking of horns and heavy vehicles. I was mad! They go through Monreith and I was missing them, being situated at the top of the hill!!. I ran down the hill to see them and then after a couple went by and then total quiet, I thought to go back up the hill. I ’m a quarter way up the hill the darn things are coming along the coast road!! Down the hill I go!! LOL I did that twice, but still missed the majority of these great vehicles!!! Glad you got a really good image. I was mad with myself. I could have been there at the wee bridge with my camera!!!!! GRRRRR.

  • Hello!! Yeah I was down in Portpatrick overnight on saturday! A friend of mine was over on his boat, so i drove down and stayed onboard overnight, was strange DRIVING there…not sailing there! lol

The classic trucks were great to see, i think they were there during the day saturday, and as i didnt get down until quite late i think i missed the majority of the show, still got a few photos tho!

    How are you keeping anyway??

Excellent treatment Chris, a classic old bus with a modern twist :o)

  • Thanks Robin, it reminded me of the Beatles Magical Mystery Tour bus, so I wanted a psychedelic look for this!
