This is a close up image of the fuselage of an American Navy Sea Stalion helicopter, a truely huge and impressive piece of aeronautical engineering.

This airframe is over 30 years old and it bears the scars and dents of every day of those 30 years in its body but rather than constantly being repainted, it is left to continue its work proudly and very, very loudly.

Gorgeous shot! I love the angle and that you went with black and white…very dynamic.

  • Why thank you :-) It already was quite a drab colour anyway, going B/W just seemed to give it more….grit!

  • Thats totally what I was going for with this one, the helicopter here actually dates back to Vietnam!!
