With its 1893 m height the Ötscher is one of the higher mountains in the part of Austria, called “Niederösterreich”. He dominates the so called “Ybbstaler Alpen”. His name means “Little Dad” and originates in the slavic languages.
In winter his surroundings are a popular spot for skiers, throughout the rest of the year his “canyon like foot” invites for long walking tours.
On his “foot” are the Ötscher Gräben. Also known as “Austria’s Great Canyon”. Gorgeous waterfalls, riverflows, forests, vegetation, flora and fauna!
He is certainly worth a visit!
