Rarely ever has a site impressed me as much as the Forum Romanum. Rarely ever was it so hard to chose from my pictures, than having to pick my Forum Romanum pictures… Most of which one can find on any post card anyways – thus I went with this one :c)

For this picture, I wanted the sky the blue it was. The stone itself wasn’t of importance. I had a phase of wanting to capture shiluettes and glaring light spots from the sun.
It was shot with my Powershot A95 back in 2006 (April). I ducked low, trying to get the whole length of pillars and gates on the picture and shot lightmetering on the sky (I used the AV setting of the camera).
Shutterspeed very fast did not allow to capture much of the foreground, thus it’s very dark, but with the light coming through the pillars I had what I wanted.
