This Great Blue Heron headed out across a field and into the sunset when she saw me and my camera. Taken near Mount Vernon, Washington.

Born and raised in the logging town of Snoqualmie, Washington (the logging days in Snoqualmie are mostly in the past now). I currently reside in Issaquah, Washington. My Canon Rebel 450D was a Christmas gift that has kept on giving me hours and hours of pleasure. I recently aquired a Canon 5D Mark II and I am now learning to use this awesome instument. I hope you enjoy these pictures half as much as I enjoyed capturing them!

Oh I can not wait till they return here! Hopefully they will come back this year…we lost many last year due to the floods, just no habitat for them with such high waters!
I know, the are so shy though that usually all I get is shots of them flying away! They are so cool. They will come back I bet. That is a real bummer for them and us :-(

Great composition Dale. I like how simple the colors are. Just gold and the bird. Nice one!
Thanks Sheryl, I am really struggling with birds in flight. I have such respect for wildlife photographers now. You have to act in an instant, it is like hunting without hurting anything (but guns are easier to shot than cameras) Super challenging. I have about 1000 blurry shots of beautiful birds flying away from me ;-) Thanks for the fave to :-)
