Death Valley National Park, California
Captured at 6:43 AM as the sun crested the mountains. The wind was erasing the footprints and creating a sharp defined edge on the crest of the dunes.
The near/far effect was accentuated by the play of light from bright to dark and the warm/cool contrast from the first light was quite pronounced. Largely we perceive meaning from contrasting elements so this scene presented the makings for a strong expression. Made it all worthwhile to get up at 5:00 am.
