Small pond amongst the paths in Hemlock Ravine, a civic park in Halifax, Nova Scotia’s capital. The first really sunny day since the leaves started to change. Beautiful temperatures for walking with my wife before returning home to a fantastic Thanksgiving meal.
Shot with Canon Eos Rebel XSi and 18-55mm kit lens.

    Great shot!

  • Thanks Rick. I’m having trouble with f-stop and focus in lower light. Many of the photos I took that day weren’t very good. I’m glad this turned out well.

    Wow- how amazingly beautiful.

  • Thanks so much, Mar. Sorry for the late reply…been away. We get such wonderful reds, golds, and yellows in the autumn…really just have to point and shoot.

    excellent shot and focus control.

  • Thanks,
We get great colours here in Nova Scotia, but, due to our location, we frequently get rain and overcast in the Fall, too. It is usually serendipity when good colours and good sunlight coincide. I occasionally get a good shot and it usually surprises me, because I’m not always sure what I did correctly. Thanks again for the nice comment. Ian.

This year here in Toronto the cold and rainy days came too soon – didn’t have time to get inspired this year :(
