Peacock by zahnartz

Small (23.2" x 15.5")

I’m an occasional fly fisherman and, when I run low on flies, I tie my own. I have a cabinet with all the tools and supplies. Today Hurricane Bill hit Halifax a gentle swat and I was stuck inside out of the rain and wind. I was looking through the cabinet and found this peacock feather.Taken under fluorescent light using Canon Eos Rebel XSi, Kenko 20mm extension tube, and Canon 18-55mm kit lens.

    Great colours, details, and lightning.

  • Thanks so much. I can’t take credit for the colours, but the combinations blew me away.

Congrats on your feature Ian!!! I had been given a peacock feather when I was about 8 yrs old…. I coveted it until marriage….. now don’t know where it went… maybe in a box with my ballet shoes and majorette boots!!!! LOL….. funny where one little pix will take you!!!! Love the depth and angle…. oh, and your Canon!!!! LOL

  • Thanks Brenda.
Now, there’s a coincidence. I was looking at your balloon shots and your other work from Maine last night, but I was too tired to comment. Had intended to get back to you today, but my wife put me to work…apparently, Redbubble comes AFTER cleaning the bathrooms!!! Who’d believe that? lol.
We’re almost neighbours ( with a “u”…Canadian, eh!). I’ve been throught the border at Presque Isle several times on my way to Bangor, Freeport, and Sunday River to ski. So much like our Cape Breton Highlands in western Maine. Gorgeous. And the east is just like the mainland of N.S….just like home ( with a slight accent) lol.
All the best, and thanks again.

  • Still looks good in the daylight, Brenda!! My motto is “open mouth, insert foot…insert other foot”!!!
