Had to come back again. I also want to know how you got this so sharp? Tough job, and you’ve managed it so well! Love the green and red contrasting too.

Hey Mel… This was the result of using a Canon A540, manual focussing, Aperture of f8 and lots and lots of photos. I eventually worked it so I was getting the focus right every time. After that I worked on composition. This afternoon I’ll upload another in the series.

Thanks for that info Lachlan, have you tried this at OE? I think it has the impact they’re looking for.

I haven’t yet tried it… I’ve so far had 4 or 5 rejections, so I’m currently at 1 upload/week… I may try it… perhaps I could upload a journal entry of a few of my favourites out of this series and you and others could tell me which you prefer? (Oh, and I forgot to mention, I used on-camera flash.)

There’s a forum where some are putting their shots up…you could also try there. All I know is they love high impact, and colour needs to be even higher impact. I think this shot might just have it…...but look forward to seeing the others.

Great macro! Brilliant lighting and captured detail. I bet this wasn’t so easy to take since you can’t see what you’re taking, and have to resist from blinking even while having light shine in your eye!
